The models are perfecting their walks, the clothing is on its way and the designers are booked - high fashion is headed to Wanganui thanks to local boutique Precioso.

And it's all in aid of a good cause, the Breast Cancer Research Trust.

Precioso owner Vanessa Hiscock said she organised the fashion show and charity auction to aid research into a disease she feels strongly about.

"My own mother died of breast cancer and I think, hopefully, that we are very close to finding out more about the disease. So the more funding we can pour into it the better.

"It's very close to everyone's heart, in one way or another."

Featured in the fashion show are collections from Juliette Hogan and Kelly Coe, creator of label Augustine, who will attend the show. Other designers  include Zambesi, Sabatini, Standard Issue and Emily Kerse.

Simply You magazine fashion editor Lynette Collins and marketing manager Angela Earl will also be at the show.

Ticket holders will receive a complimentary glass of wine, nibbles and a goodie bag.
Up for auction are items including barbecue equipment, a Kathy van Zeeland handbag and jewellery.

Ms Hiscock hoped  that local businesses would  donate  more items.

There are 250 tickets available for the show and a quarter  had already sold, she said.
