A 9-year-old boy was enticed into a car by an unknown man yesterday.
Police are investigating after the man picked up the boy about 3.15pm on Parsons St, Wanganui. The boy was driven around for a short time and then dropped off unharmed in Puriri St.
The child was wearing a white top, long tan pants and carrying a skateboard.
The vehicle was a silver four-door sedan, with rusted door and roof sills. The driver is described as a middle-aged Caucasian with dark hair. He was wearing a striped red and white coloured long-sleeved shirt.
Detective Constable Chay McArthur said: "We would still like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the Parsons St, Totara St and Puriri St areas on Monday afternoon who may have seen anything or who knows anything that might be relevant."
If you can help, phone Wanganui police on 06 349 0600 or 06 349 0618 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
