Complicit the lead contender

The Hatrick Raceway track lights won't be required for today's racing action, with the meeting kicking off at 12:14pm.

The meeting also features the return of a number of short course sprinters who were unsuccessful in the rich Christchurch races during the NZ Cup series.

As usual, the TAB Quaddie gets underway on race nine (2:39pm) which sees all four Quaddie races being contested by open-class chasers.

Complicit is returning from an absolute luckless southern campaign. He is likely to enjoy his return to his favourite track and he looms as the leading contender here.

Flag Waver is a noted railer and she has drawn to deliver a competitive sprint. Off the others, Leadfoot Lenny owns a preference for the wider draws; therefore drawing the seven trap here is likely to suit him.

Darlyne Ottey gave her army of supporters heart flutters last Friday when she eventually prevailed in a desperate two-way nose finish.

She is capable of repeating in the second Quaddie leg.

Keep the returning Cool Izmir safe here. He has proven very hard to run down if he can sniff out the early pace.

Thrilling Cairo was involved in that tight finish last Friday, so include him here, while Rybenbrook Josh is a noted railing chaser who has drawn ideally here.

Last Thursday's Galaxy Sprint third place getter Guru Goose has drawn to lead the third leg field of sprinters throughout.

The claims that the Northerner Blue Jean Alice owns here cannot be ignored.

Ima Spice has drawn a trap from here he can swoop right around the outer, while Howlin Wind is strong enough to attempt an all-the-way win here.

The Quaddie wraps up with a competitive-looking sprint field.

Rosemore Osti has been there and done that here and she is expected to be in contention throughout.

Enflame owns sufficient early pace to make her presence felt here and although the Canterbury visitor Callahan prefers drawing out wide, he is still capable of delivering a cheeky sprint from the one trap. And don't neglect the prospects that Mirage holds in this dash. She owns the ability to out sprint the lot of them here.
