Earthquake shakes Rotorua, Taupo

An arthquake centred near Tokoroa has been widely felt across the North Island.

According to Geonet the earthquake hit at 7.19am and was a magnitue 5.8 and was 25km South East of Tokoroa.

People across the North Island took to social media to talk about the quake with one person saying they felt significant movement for at least 25 seconds. Others have said how the earthquake woke them up.
