Amirtham Restaurant is to take the place of former businesses Cafe Roux and Hysteria Cafe & Roast in Wanganui's Victoria Ave.

The eatery is in a state of flux at present, with director Teena Lawrence and two helpers working towards an official opening on March 1.

They are serving cafe food as a trial until that time.

Their aim is to offer ethnic food, especially Sri Lankan, and eventually Pacific Island and Maori kai.
