Power cut in Rangitikei
Power has been cut to parts of Rangitikei and supplies won't be restored until 1.30pm.
The cut has been caused by ''overhead line failure'' about 5.45am but Powerco spokesman Neil Holdom couldn't say what caused the failure.
Power was reportedly cut to Crofton, Fern Flat, Fordell, Greatford, Hunterville, Kakariki, Marton, Mt Curl, Nga Tawa, Turakina, Turakina Valley, Tutaenui, Kaikarangi, Ohingaiti, Otairi, Putorino and Rata.
Powerco's website cited overhead line failure as the cause.
The cut affected around 3900 customers in Rangitikei this morning. Powerco network operations manager Phil Marsh said supply to 2500 customers had been restored, with full supply expected early this afternoon.
