Police name Wanganui forestry accident victim
A Wanganui forestry worker died when a tree fell on him in Tararua District this morning.
The accident occurred about 7.15am in a remote forestry block south of Pongaroa, near Dannevirke, Senior Sergeant Dylan Earle said.
Police later released the name of the man as Reece Joseph Reid age 23 years, who died at the scene.
The Government's labour service is investigating the accident and the death had been referred to the coroner.
